Taksim is one of the popular parts of Istanbul and is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus. It is the main district of the city and a great location to book an Istanbul hotel if you’re coming here for an unforgettable time.

Being an important centre of the city, transport links are perfect from here. You can stay in a hotel in this part of Istanbul but easily get around on public transport to other parts such as the historic peninsula which is across the Golden Horn, and to the ferry ports to take you across to the Asian side.

The metro goes from here in two directions; either north to Levent or south down to the Golden Horn at Kabitaş. From there you can get onto the light railway tram system. Also at one end of the square is a bus station from where you can catch a bus to most main parts of the city.
